Had the pleasure of meeting Vladimiro Gioia and encountering my first double-cheek kiss in Italy.
Vladimiro Gioia was practically born and raised in his family's factory and was able to be fully emerged in the makings of fur and leather pieces. Today, he has his own factory with white walls and red brick floors and everything else in his surroundings was colorful, textured and printed. By just glancing at his sketches, I could easily imagine and visualize the collection walking down the runway.

Vladimiro knows how to make you feel warm on cold winter days and is taking the fashion world by storm with his own clever concepts that will be admired by many.
It is refreshing to know that Vladimiro follows his own creativity and his thought process has nothing to do with other collections and designers because he likes to stay true to his vision. Of course, there has to be some sort of compromise at times when it comes to the fashion industry. Vladimiro's best interest is to pursue the luxury market and bring in street influences along with his travels and surroundings in order to design a collection that stays true to his beliefs.
I have never been face-to-face with a designer, none-the-less, an extraordinary self-taught Italian designer. I was so intrigued by everything that he had to say about the way that he went about designing and how he wants to stand out by taking risks and setting himself apart from other designers. He is such an inspiration to me and this visit to his factory has revealed something within me that has been with me since childhood, which is always to be known as someone who is different and never being afraid to take risks in life with anything that you want to do.
This is a design that Vladimiro was inspired by from a piece of art which is used as the material on the inside of his coats. Each collection has it's own distinct touch.
Below is a simple, cropped fur coat that I absolutely adore, with a different print on the inner lining.
